It has already become a good tradition at the Department of Business Foreign Language and International Communication to conduct educational and scientific events with the participation of foreign guests.
Recently, the next meeting of English Speaking Club was held, as always with the participation of special guest from the United States Stuart Snuggs and teacher Natalia Bozok.
The meeting was devoted to an actual and interesting topic “Crimes and Criminals”, which became the basis of students’ reflections on the features, types of crimes and the criminal situation in the world, in general.
The meeting began with clarification of the specific vocabulary on the topic and continued with a lively discussion on the popular article “The most mysterious crimes in the history of mankind”.
At the next stage of the meeting, the students were offered the circumstances of the crimes based on the writings of Agatha Christie, which they were supposed to unravel and find the real criminals.
The meeting ended with the role-playing game Crimes and Detectives, under which students were divided into subgroups of “criminals”, “detectives” and “witnesses”. It turned out to be a lot of fun and interesting, because the criminals were found thanks to the skilled work of detectives and the active position of witnesses who helped to solve the mysterious case.
The meeting helped to improve students’ communication in foreign language and developed their logic and ingenuity.
