This conference is organized by the ERASMUS+ Knowledge Alliance project EuFooD-STA project 554312-EPP-1-2014-1-AT-EPPKA2-KAa knowledge alliance between universities and food companies.

The aim of this conference is to collect best practices of university-industry educational and training initiatives for food study programmes and CPD (continual professional development). 


Invited speakers from universities (Paola Pittia, Univ. of Teramo, IT), industries (Marc Dryer, Nestle, CH) and research (Brian McKenna, EFFoST, IR) will present perspectives of curriculum development, companies and research.


ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Deadline: April 27, 2015 by email to with subject: EuFooD-STA Virtual Conference abstract surname

The abstract must contain surname and abbreviated first name of authors, affiliations, email of corresponding author, 5 keywords and an indication for preference of oral/poster. The text (between 300 and 500 words) should clearly describe the challenge, the solution and the benefits of the initiative.

Contributions can be oral (10 min presentations + 10 min discussion) or in form of a poster (A0). The abstracts will be published in an electronic book of abstracts with ISBN number. Selected contributions will be invited to submit a manuscript to the ISEKI-Food International Journal of Food Studies (



The conference is organized in 2 parts, in order to allow participation from the different time zones. Each part will have different presentations. All presentations will be recorded for later viewing. The following sessions are planned:

  • Enhancing entrepreneurial and professional skills
  • Innovative pedagogical and learning experiences
  • The contribution of HE to food industry innovation

The conference will be followed by an "open international forum" for teachers, education scientists and industry representatives to promote a constructive dialogue and collaboration on university-industry educational and training initiatives, and to present and disseminate the results of the activities developed by the project and after.

A cooperation agreement was signed with the University of Tomas Bata in Zlin (Czech Republic).

Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) is a dynamically growing higher education institution comprised of six faculties offering students the possibility of studying humanities, natural sciences, technology and art. It is one of the most prominent centres of research in the Czech Republic and, in many respects, also abroad. With about 10,300 students, TBU ranks among medium-sized Czech universities.

TBU follows a longstanding tradition of the Faculty of Technology, which was founded in Zlín in 1969 and since than has educated hundreds of highly-qualified professionals. The University is named after the originator of the shoe industry in Zlín and a world-famous entrepreneur Tomáš Ba?a (1876 - 1932).

Within Erasmus + program was signed an agreement on cooperation with the Wroc?aw University of Economics (Poland).

Our University continues to increase the development of academic mobility. Recently a cooperation agreement with the Wroc?aw University of Economics (Poland) was signed as part of the Erasmus + program.

We remind that Erasmus - the most successful program of exchanges of students, teachers and researchers from the EU, and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Norway and Turkey.

It provides an opportunity to study, practice, or teach in another country that participates in the program. According to the terms of Erasmus, student can receive a scholarship or study without scholarship, but there is no tuition fee for studying in foreign Universities. The amount of the scholarship depends on the limits, defined for each country. From the 2014 European Union has a new program - Erasmus +. It is designed for the period till 2020 and combines seven current European programs in education, science and sports, including Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus. Ukraine is a partner country of Erasmus+ and has an opportunity to participate in contests, which are open to all partner countries within the International part of the program.
